Robert J. Lee joined the Law Offices of Quintanilla & Associates after working over five years at the law firm of Green, de Bortnowsky & Quintanilla, LLP, serving as Deputy City Attorney for the cities of Rancho Mirage, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City and Victorville. Mr. Lee currently serves as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Rancho Mirage, Assistant General Counsel for the City of Rancho Mirage Housing Authority, Assistant General Counsel for the Successor Agency to the former Rancho Mirage Redevelopment Agency, Assistant City Attorney for the City of Desert Hot Springs, Assistant General Counsel for the City of Desert Hot Springs Housing Authority, and Assistant General Counsel for the Successor Agency to the former Desert Hot Springs Redevelopment Agency. Mr. Lee also serves as Deputy General Counsel to numerous special districts.
Mr. Lee oversees the Firm’s transactional practice and focuses primarily on municipal matters concerning real estate, land use, affordable housing, public works, former redevelopment agency issues, and general contracts law. Mr. Lee also provides regular advice on the Public Records Act and the Brown Act.
Mr. Lee is licensed to practice law in both California and Illinois. Prior to his practice in municipal law, Mr. Lee worked as both a corporate lawyer and as a litigator during which time he spent several years in Chicago representing Fortune 500 companies in real estate, land use and eminent domain matters.
Mr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles, and received his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. He is admitted to practice before all courts in the states of California and Illinois and the United States District Court, Central District of California.
